Reflections
As I reflect on this course I feel my biggest challenges were learning how to use technology to present my work and ideas. I do feel more innovative by integrating technology tools in my lesson plans and I am excited to go deeper and use more tools. I tend to like to stay in my comfort zone and use only the ones I am most familiar with. I am hoping to branch out and become more experienced using more internet tools and integrating them with my lesson plans. I would also like more explicit instruction in TPACK. It would be nice if districts would embrace this type of training and allow funds to give teachers professional development on how to be more innovative. I really liked the lessons we all did using technology in 702 class. It made me feel like an innovative teacher! It would be nice to integrate technology in more lessons and use less paper. There are still teaching strategies out there that encourage "old school" lots of chart paper and worksheets. GLAD being one of them. NVUSD is not innovative and is adopting a teaching strategy that is not innovative. I like some things about GLAD and I use the strategies in my classroom but I don't like all the chart paper that is required to be used. Nothing is online for the students or teacher. I agree that the teaching strategies with chart paper can be helpful but it is still not the best way to engage all learners. My goal is to continue to be a better innovative teacher and implement what I learn from this program in my classroom.
