Tool Review
Since I teach kindergarten, my students are still developing their critical thinking and problem solving skills. Many frontal lobe brain functions are not developed yet and won't be for several more years, with that said, the only tool I have worked with in my class are the apps that are installed into the ipad. I would like to focus on the apps I can integrate into their everyday learning. The apps that integrate into their learning right now would be iRead, mathrack and subitizing.
In the future, it would be great to have additional programs installed such as social emotional learning and story writing apps. I would like to learn more about digital story telling for kindergarten.
- How long did it take to get up to speed on how to use the tool proficiently?
I was familiar with the tool I use so far. - What worked well for you and what didn’t when using the tool with your students or for your own project?
Not all the iPads have the program installed that they should. - Were you using the right tool for the right job? How do you know?
Yes I feel that I use the right tool in my math lesson when integrating ipad mathrack activity with adding and subtraction, learning equations and recognizing part-part-whole. - If you have a lesson plan that incorporated this tool please include a link to it.
I will in the future
